A COLD ONE

During the summer, one of my favourite places to visit and enjoy a cold one is Windermere House, with its outdoor patio overlooking the lake. With the temperature at -25°C, it was a cold one today when I stopped by while exploring the area, and learned the Lady of the Lake is currently undergoing some room renovations for the season ahead.

WINDERMERE FOR A BEER

Stopped in at Windermere for a beer, to wet my whistle and dry my clothes, after being sprayed by random waves while kayaking across the open stretches from Brackenrig Bay, where I put in at Dock Road earlier. It was quite wavy and quite the workout but well worth it as Windermere House has one of the best patios and views on the lake.
[Thank you to my server Megan, for taking this photograph for me.]

REFLECTIONS

A glass partition on the patio captures a reflection of Windermere House on an overcast day, the clouds resembling smoke, reflecting the tragic time it caught fire during filming a Hollywood movie and burned to the ground. Established originally in 1870, the resort was rebuilt, restoring its grandeur and her status as "Lady of the Lake."
