SPRING EQUINOX

Winter has officially surrendered to spring and released the Segwun, North America's oldest operating steamship, named for the Ojibwa word for springtime. Many of the lakes have moats of open water separating the shoreline from the receding and deteriorating ice, conditions now deemed unsafe to travel on except with an airboat.

  1. WIth the waterways opening up, the water birds are coming back. All great signs of spring. It was a cold w/e, though!

  2. The Muskoka Wharf is one of my favourite photo stops. Great photo of the Segwun. I walked almost all the way to the lighthouse when the ice was still safe - hard to believe it went out so fast this year.
