MAY FLOWERS
April showers bring forth May flowers. A red trillium stands out from its white peers, in both colour and qualities. Trilliums are members of the Lily family and are aptly named for their arrangement of three leaves, sepals and petals. The white trillium was adopted as the floral emblem of Ontario and is also the symbol of its Government.

Oh! Nice juxtaposition of the two species....Great shot! Have you've seen the painted Trillium yet???? Those are the true indigenious flower of the area.....
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky find. I haven't seen a red trillium for a few years now. The white ones are making carpets of flowers this year it seems.
